Join us this Sunday at morning Church as we begin a new 4 week series on Grace – from Romans 9-12. We’ll be thinking through how we respond to God’s grace in his election and calling – and what that means for us in our faith and the way we share the gospel.

8am and 9:30am English services.

Love Song: Song of Songs

Song-of-Songs-Graphic_02

The Song of Songs is a unique book of the bible. It’s explicit language has certainly caused many to blush or giggle as it is read. Some may have grown up with the joke that Song of Songs is the “sealed section” of the Bible, a book only to read when you are over 18! Yes it has lyrics about “tasting” and “touching”, but it is not crude (unlike much of contemporary Top 40 music!). It is THE LOVE SONG OF LOVE SONGS presenting to us a vision of what genuine human love and intimacy can look like, against the backdrop of a world which has gone so far awry in this arena.

Join us at our Sunday Night Church (6:30pm) over the next 8 weeks as we dive into this beautiful song. Our hope for this series is that we can move beyond the giggles and see that Song of Songs has much to communicate to us about the nature and focus of genuine love, a love flowing from the very heart of God.

New Service Times 2015.001

This coming Sunday, the 11th October 2015, we will be refreshing our Sunday morning service times as follows:

8am – Traditional Holy Communion Service (English). This service will follow the Common Prayer Book and use a mix of traditional and some modern hymns. No children’s program.

9.30am – Family Service (English). This service is a contemporary service for all ages, but with particular care and attention to those with young children. It includes modern music with our church band, a creche, an exciting kid’s program (explorers: 3 years old – year 1; PK’s+: years 2-6), and a discipleship team (D-Team) for youth in years 7-9.

11am – Chinese Service (Cantonese with Mandarin translation). This service will continue to maintain the strong Chinese ministry at St Philips. A creche and children’s ministry is also provided during this service.

6.30pm – Evening Service (English). This service will continue as a vibrant and modern ministry, for all ages, but with a particular focus on caring for and reaching out to the youth and young adults in our area. No children’s program.

Though our service times are changing, our mission, core values, and strategy will not.

Our ONE MISSION as a church is still “TO PRESENT ALL PEOPLE IN OUR COMMUNITY MATURE IN CHRIST.”

Our TWO CORE VALUES are: “LOVE GOD & LOVE OUR NEIGHBOURS”

Our THREE FOLD STRATEGY is: “CONNECT, GROW, SERVE”

We look forward to seeing you at one of our Sunday services soon!
